Turkish Culture & Rumi Istanbul (TCRI)
In 2007, the world celebrated the 800th anniversary of Rumi's birth and the 733rd anniversary of his death.
Every year in December commemoration ceremonies are held in Konya, Turkey, for Jelaleddin Rumi (Mevlana), the great 13th-century Sufi (Islamic mystic) poet and founder of the Mevlevi (Whirling) Dervish order.
From April to December EF Turkish Centre runs a new program - Turkish Language & Rumi Studies in Istanbul with a weekend get away to Konya – the heart of Rumi - included in the package (TLRS).
TLRSP provides 4 hours of Turkish language tuition every day in the mornings (from Mondays to Fridays) and 3 hours of Rumi cultural tours in the afternoons in English. This package is perfect for foreigners, who are interested in Rumi’s life, studies, poetry, philosophy, spirituality and who believe this program will be ideal to experience a new culture and explore a different world to themselves.
A weekend tour to Konya will be offered.
Rumi's message of peace, love, tolerance and acceptance is as vital and urgently necessary today as it was in the time of the Seljuk Sultanate of Rum, when Rumi lived.
This program runs only for two weeks and it includes:
- Pre-course information, including town map
- Pre-course placement test
- 40 hours of group tuition
- 30 hours of Sight seeing tours
- Course materials
- Certificate and progress report on completion of course
- Email and internet access
- Experienced school management accustomed to working with professional and business people
- small groups (a maximum of 10 students in the class)
- A truly international mix of students, at least 40 nationalities each year
- Services by Russian, Spanish and French speaking counselors
- Host Family accommodation (Single room / all meals included)

Start Dates
- EF Language Centre Turkish programs have fixed start dates to ensure you study with students of a similar level
- EF Language Centre Istanbul is pleased to offer Turkish Intensive language courses at all levels from Beginners to Advanced throughout the year.
- Students must complete an Online Level test in Turkish before their arrival and check for availability.
Accommodation
- EF Language Schools offers students’ welfare and different accommodation options (Host Family, Residences, Hotels, Hostels and Apartments).
Minimum group size, Conversion & Course Cancellation
- The school reserves the right to cancel classes or shorten classes if the number of students is not sufficient. In case of cancellation decided by the school, tuition fees are refunded.
